  2. In a saucepan, heat butter or oil, add the rice, and sauté for a minute.

  3. Add water or vegetable broth and salt. Bring to a boil.

  4. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for about 15 minutes until the rice is cooked and fluffy. Set aside.

Prepare the Garlic Mushroom

  1. Heat butter in a large pan over medium heat.

  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for a minute until fragrant, but do not let it burn.

  3. Add the chopped onions and cook until translucent.

  4. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for 5-6 minutes until they release their water and turn golden brown.

  5. Stir in salt, black pepper, and thyme or parsley.

  6. Reduce the heat to low, add the cream, and stir well. Let the mixture simmer for 3-4 minutes until it thickens.

  7. If using, add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted into the sauce.

  1. In a bowl, place a generous serving of the cooked rice.

  2. Top with the creamy garlic mushroom mixture.

  3. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, grated Parmesan, or a sprinkle of chili flakes for a little kick.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Add Protein: You can add grilled chicken, tofu, or paneer to the dish for extra protein.

  2. Make it Vegan: Use olive oil or a plant-based butter alternative and substitute the cream with coconut milk or cashew cream.

  3. Enhance Flavor: For an extra burst of flavor, you can sprinkle a little lemon zest or squeeze some fresh lemon juice over the top.
