Kimchi Mandu recipe

Ingredients

(1 serving = 3 dumplings)

For the Stuffing

  • 1/4cup
    kimchi (finely chopped, excess water removed)
  • 10
    pcs button mushrooms (minced, excess water removed)
  • 1/2tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1
    small red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1
    stalk green onion (finely chopped)
  • 1clove
    garlic (minced)
  • salt (to taste)

For the Wrapper

  • 1cup
    all-purpose flour
  • 1tsp
    salt
  • 1/2cup
    warm water

For Frying

  • 2tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1/2tbsp
    corn flour
  • 100mL
    water

For Dipping Sauce

  • 1tsp
    ssamjang paste
  • 1/2tsp
    soy sauce
  • 1tsp
    ketchup
  • 1tbsp
    sesame oil
  • 1tsp
    sesame seeds

How to make Kimchi Mandu

For the Stuffing

  1. Sauté the onions and mushrooms in vegetable oil.

  2. Mix all the stuffing ingredients together until well combined.

For the Wrapper

  1. Form a dough with all the wrapper ingredients and knead well.

  2. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.

  3. Roll out the dough thinly and cut out circles.

Assembling and Cooking

  1. Place the stuffing in the wrappers and shape them as desired.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan and fry the mandu until the bottom is golden brown.

  3. Add corn flour and water over the mandu once the bottom is golden brown and steam for 6-7 minutes.

For the Sauce

  1. Mix all the dipping sauce ingredients together until well combined.

  2. Serve the sauce with the mandu.
