For the Koftas
- 200gsoyabeans
- 1cupgrated bottle gourd
- 2tbspcornflour
- 1tspginger-garlic paste
- 1tspred chili powder
- 1tspcumin powder
- 1tspsalt
- 2tbspoil
For the Curry
- 2tbspoil
- 1cuponion, finely chopped
- 1cuptomato puree
- 1tspginger-garlic paste
- 1tspred chili powder
- 1tspcumin powder
- 1tspgaram masala
- 1tspsalt
- 1cupwater
How to make Soyabean Kofta Curry
Preparing the Koftas
Soak the soyabeans in water for a few hours, then drain and blend them into a smooth paste.
In a bowl, mix the soyabean paste with grated bottle gourd, cornflour, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, cumin powder, and salt.
Shape the mixture into small balls (koftas).
Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the koftas until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
Preparing the Curry
In the same pan, add more oil and sauté the chopped onions until they turn golden brown.
Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
Stir in the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
Add red chili powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
Pour in water and bring the mixture to a boil.
Add the fried koftas to the curry and simmer for a few minutes.
