    soyabeans
  • 1cup
    grated bottle gourd
  • 2tbsp
    cornflour

    ginger-garlic paste

    oil
  • 1cup
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1cup
    tomato puree
  • 1tsp
    ginger-garlic paste
  • 1tsp
    red chili powder
  • 1tsp
    cumin powder
  • 1tsp
    garam masala
  • 1tsp
    salt
  • 1cup
    water

How to make Soyabean Kofta Curry

Preparing the Koftas

  1. Soak the soyabeans in water for a few hours, then drain and blend them into a smooth paste.

  2. In a bowl, mix the soyabean paste with grated bottle gourd, cornflour, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, cumin powder, and salt.

  3. Shape the mixture into small balls (koftas).

  4. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the koftas until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

Preparing the Curry

  1. In the same pan, add more oil and sauté the chopped onions until they turn golden brown.

  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.

  3. Stir in the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.

  4. Add red chili powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.

  5. Pour in water and bring the mixture to a boil.

  6. Add the fried koftas to the curry and simmer for a few minutes.
