    Chana dal
  • 1tsp
    Cumin seeds
  • 6clove
    Garlic
  • 1in
    Ginger
  • 3clove
    Green chilli
  • 1tsp
    Curry leaves
  • 1tsp
    Coriander seeds
  • 1tsp
    Turmeric powder
  • 1tsp
    Red chilli powder
  • 1/4tsp
    Hing
  • 1
    Onion
  • 3tbsp
    Rice flour
  • 1cup
    Coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking oil for frying

How to make Monsoon Special Dal Vada

Preparation

  1. Soak the chana dal for 3-4 hours.

  2. Drain the soaked dal and transfer it to a blender.

  3. Add cumin seeds, garlic, ginger, green chillies, curry leaves, coriander seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and hing to the blender.

  4. Blend the mixture to a coarse paste.

  5. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add chopped onion, rice flour, coriander leaves, and salt.

  6. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.

Frying

  1. Heat oil in a deep frying pan.

  2. Once the oil is hot, take small portions of the mixture and shape them into vadas.

  3. Carefully drop the vadas into the hot oil.

  4. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy.

  5. Remove the vadas from the oil and drain on paper towels.
