Ingredients
Dhokla Batter
- 1cupChana dal
- 1cupRice
- 1tspEno powder
- 1/2tspTurmeric powder
- 1tspGinger & Chilli paste
- 1tbspOil
- 1tspSalt

- 1tbspOil
- 1 1/2tspMustard seeds
- 2pieceGreen Chilli
- 1bundleCurry leaves
- 1tspSugar
- 1/2lemon Lemon juice
- 1/2cupWater
- 1bundleCoriander leaves for garnish
How to make Dal Rice Dhokla
Prepare the Dhokla Batter
Soak the chana dal and rice in water for a few hours or overnight.
Drain the soaked dal and rice, then blend them into a smooth batter.
Add salt, turmeric powder, ginger & chilli paste, and oil to the batter. Mix well.
Just before steaming, add Eno powder to the batter and mix gently.
Steam the Dhokla
Pour the batter into a greased steaming tray.
Steam for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Prepare the Tadka
In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds. Let them splutter.
Add green chillies and curry leaves, and sauté for a minute.
Add sugar, salt, lemon juice, and water. Bring to a boil.
Serve
Cut the steamed dhokla into pieces and pour the tadka over it.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve warm.
