Ingredients

Mousse

  • 1 1/2cups
    dark chocolate chips
  • 1cup
    heavy cream
  • 1/2cup
    granulated sugar
  • 2piece
    large egg whites
  • 1tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/4cup
    unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4cup
    melted unsalted butter

Topping

  • 1cup
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1cup
    milk chocolate chips

How to make Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake

Prepare the Mousse

  1. In a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate chips. Set aside.

  2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.

  3. In another bowl, whisk together the egg whites and sugar until stiff peaks form. Set aside.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder and melted butter. Add the egg whites and whisk until smooth.

  5. Fold the whipped cream into the cocoa mixture until well combined.

  6. Fold the melted dark chocolate into the cocoa mixture until well combined.

  7. Pour the mixture into individual serving cups or a large serving dish.

  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Prepare the Topping

  1. Melt the semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips in a double boiler.

  2. Pour over the chilled mousse.

  3. Chill for an additional 30 minutes before serving.
