Tips & Tricks
Choose fresh, firm, and unblemished amlas for the jam.
Amlas are naturally tangy, so balancing the sweetness with sugar or jaggery is crucial. For a healthier option, use jaggery instead of sugar.
Cook the mixture on low to medium heat while stirring continuously to prevent sticking or burning.
Wait for the mixture to thicken and achieve a jam-like consistency. To test, drop a little jam on a cold plate—if it sets and doesn’t run, it’s ready.
Allow the jam to cool completely before sealing the jars. Store the jam in a cool, dark place or refrigerate it to extend shelf life. Properly stored, it can last for 2-3 months without preservatives.
