A delicious South Indian stir fry made with tender jackfruit, curry leaves, and coconut. Perfectly complements rice.

Ingredients
- 1pieceTender Jackfruit
- 1 1/2tspChilly powder
- 1/2tspTurmeric powder
- 6tbspGrated coconut
- 3cloveGarlic
- 7pieceShallots
- 2pieceDried red chilly
- 1/2tspMustard seeds
- 1/2tspUrad dal
- 1 1/2tbspOil
- 2sprigCurry leaves
How to make Tender Jackfruit Stir Fry
Take tender jackfruit. Clean the jackfruit and cut it into pieces.
In a khadai, add jackfruit pieces, chilly powder, turmeric powder, and salt with enough water to cook well.
Cook until the jackfruit is soft. Turn off the heat and let it cool completely.
Crush the cooked jackfruit with your hands or with a masher and set aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them pop.
Add urad dal and sauté until it turns light brown.
Add crushed garlic and sauté until the raw taste is gone.
Add shallots and sauté until they become light brown.
Add curry leaves and dried chilly.
Add grated coconut and sauté for 1 minute.
Add the crushed jackfruit and mix well for 1 minute.
Turn off the heat. The jackfruit stir fry is ready to serve.
Tips & Tricks
Apply a little oil to your hands and knife before cleaning the jackfruit to avoid the sticky glue.
