Sweet Diamond cuts are made using a simple dough cut into diamond shapes, then deep-fried until crispy and tossed in sugar syrup. It's an easy snack that you can make for festivals.

Ingredients

4 Servings
(1 serving = snack portion)

Dough

  • 1cup
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/4tsp
    salt
  • 1/2tsp
    turmeric powder
  • 6tbsp
    water

For Frying

  • oil

  • 1/2cup
    sugar
  • 1/4cup
    water

How to make Sweet Diamond Cut

Prepare the Dough

  1. In a mixing bowl, add flour, salt, and turmeric powder.

  2. Mix well.

Shape and Fry

  1. Dust some flour on the rolling board and flatten the dough using a rolling pin to make a thin sheet.

  2. Cut the sheet into diamond shapes using a cutter or knife.

  3. Heat oil in a pan until hot.

  4. Turn the flame to medium-high and add the diamond cut pieces.

  5. When they start floating, lower the flame and fry until crispy.

  6. Remove from oil and repeat the process for all pieces.

Prepare Sugar Syrup and Combine

  1. Boil sugar with 1/4 cup of water until it reaches a one-string consistency.

  2. After that, Allow to boil for another 30 seconds.

  3. Add the fried diamond cuts to the syrup and combine gently.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
