FAQS

  1. How do I make quail egg fry with a spicy masala mix?

To make quail egg fry, start by boiling 10 quail eggs until fully cooked. Peel the eggs and set them aside. In a bowl, combine chili powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, fennel seed powder, and salt with a little water to create a masala mix. Heat oil in a pan, add curry leaves, and sauté for a few seconds. Then, add the masala mix and cook for another 30 seconds before adding the boiled eggs. Mix everything together for about 30-40 seconds on low flame, then serve hot.

  2. Can I make quail egg fry vegan or vegetarian?

While quail egg fry is traditionally made with quail eggs, you can create a vegetarian version by substituting the eggs with firm tofu or paneer. Cut the tofu or paneer into bite-sized pieces and follow the same cooking process, using the masala mix to flavor them. This way, you can enjoy a similar spicy dish without using eggs.

  3. What is the best way to store leftover quail egg fry?

To store leftover quail egg fry, allow it to cool completely, then transfer it to an airtight container. It can be refrigerated for up to 2 days. When you're ready to eat, reheat it in a pan over low heat to maintain its flavor and texture. Avoid microwaving as it may make the eggs rubbery.

  4. What can I serve with quail egg fry for a complete meal?

Quail egg fry pairs wonderfully with steamed rice or flatbreads like chapati or naan. You can also serve it alongside a fresh salad or raita to balance the spiciness of the dish. For a complete meal, consider adding a side of sautéed vegetables or a lentil dish.

  5. What spices can I substitute in the quail egg fry recipe?

If you don't have some of the spices listed in the quail egg fry recipe, you can substitute them with similar spices. For example, if you lack garam masala, you can use a mix of cumin and cinnamon. If you don't have fennel seed powder, you can use anise seed powder or simply omit it. Adjust the spice levels according to your taste preferences.
