Orange Wine recipe

  • 1kg
    Orange
  • 3/4kg
    Sugar
  • 1tbsp
    Wheat
  • 1in
    Cinnamon piece
  • 2clove
    Clove
  • 1piece
    Cardamom
  • 1/4tsp
    Yeast
  • 1 1/2L
    Water

How to make Orange Wine

Preparation

  1. Clean the orange and wipe it using a clean cloth.

  2. Peel the orange and remove the white parts and seeds.

  3. Transfer the orange pieces into a sterilized container.

  4. Add sugar and mash the mixture using a clean, dry masher.

  5. Add cooled boiled water to the mixture.

  6. Add yeast. If using instant yeast, add directly. If using normal yeast, mix it in lukewarm water for 5 minutes before adding.

  7. Add spices and wheat to the mixture.

  8. Mix well and close the lid. Stir daily for 7 days.

Fermentation

  1. After 7 days, strain the mixture using a muslin cloth.

  2. Transfer the strained liquid to clean, dry bottles and let it sit untouched for another 7 days.

  3. After 7 days, strain it again using a muslin cloth.

  4. Pour the wine into bottles and it is ready to use.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Ensure all equipment used is clean and dry to prevent contamination.

  2. Stir the mixture daily to ensure even fermentation.
