Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 250g
    cluster beans
  • 13piece
    shallots
  • 3clove
    garlic
  • 1/2tsp
    turmeric powder
  • 1 1/2tsp
    chilly powder
  • 1 1/2tbsp
    oil
  • 1/2tsp
    mustard seeds
  • 1piece
    dried chilly
  • 1sprig
    curry leaves

Preparation

  1. Clean the cluster beans and cut them into medium-sized pieces.

Cooking

  1. Boil the cluster beans pieces. when it starts boiling turn off the flame, then strain them.

  2. Put the boiled cluster beans into a pressure cooker, add salt and turmeric powder.

  3. Cook for 1 or 2 whistles.

  4. Heat oil in a pan. When it becomes hot, add mustard seeds.

  5. Once the mustard seeds pop, add dried chilly, garlic pieces, and shallot pieces.

  6. Sauté until the mixture turns golden brown.

  7. Lower the flame, then add chilly powder and curry leaves.

  8. Add the cooked cluster beans and mix well.

  9. Turn off the flame.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Ensure the cluster beans are not overcooked to maintain a slight crunch.

  2. Adjust the amount of chilly powder to suit your spice preference.
