  • 1piece
    chicken, disjointed
  • 1tbsp
    ginger
  • 1tbsp
    garlic
  • 1tbsp
    red chili paste
  • 1tsp
    salt
  • 1tbsp
    ground almonds
  • 1tbsp
    coconut
  • 1tbsp
    crushed coriander (dhana)
  • 1tsp
    crushed cumin (jeeru)
  • 1tsp
    mustard powder
  • 2tbsp
    tomato paste
  • 2tbsp
    mayonnaise
  • 1pinch
    saffron
  • 1piece
    lemon, juiced
  • 30g
    butter
  • 1
    handful cocktail tomatoes
  • 2tbsp
    ghee
  • 2piece
    whole red chilies
  • 3clove
    garlic, sliced
  • 1tsp
    whole cumin (jeeru)
  • 2tbsp
    chopped almonds
  • 2sprigs
    curry leaves

How to make Almond Chicken

  1. Marinate the chicken in ginger, garlic, red chili paste, salt, ground almonds, coconut, crushed coriander, crushed cumin, mustard powder, tomato paste, mayonnaise, saffron, and lemon juice for at least an hour.

  2. Heat butter in a pan. Add the marinated chicken and cook until done.

  3. Add a handful of cocktail tomatoes and allow to simmer.

  4. Before serving, prepare the wagaar (tempering).

  5. Heat ghee in a small pan. Add whole red chilies, sliced garlic, whole cumin, chopped almonds, and curry leaves. Braise nicely.

  6. Pour the wagaar over the cooked chicken and serve.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Marinate the chicken for longer for a more intense flavor.

  2. Adjust the amount of red chili paste according to your spice preference.
