A versatile and easy-to-make strawberry sauce made from fresh frozen strawberries, perfect as a cake filling, spread for bread, or for making strawberry desserts.
Ingredients
- 1cupstrawberries
- 1/3cupsugar
- 1tbsplemon juice
- 1tsplemon zest
- 1tspcorn flour/corn starch
- 2tspwater
How to make Strawberry Sauce
In a nonstick saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries release their juices and the mixture starts to simmer.
In a small bowl, mix corn flour/corn starch with water to create a slurry.
Add the slurry to the saucepan and stir continuously until the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat and let it cool before transferring to an airtight jar for storage.
