When you are on your weightloss target but craving for sambar this recipe is perfect
Ingredients
For base
- 1/2cuptoor daal
- 1/4lauki
- 1/4brinjal
- 1/4carrot
- 1onion
- 2tomatoes
- 8curry leaves
- pinchof hing
- 1tspJhakiyan or mustard seeds
- salt as per taste
- 1tspchilli powder
- 2dry red chillies
- 1tspturmeric powder
- 2tbspsambar powder
- 1/2tspOil
- water as required
- 2tbsptamarind
How to make Weightloss sambar
Let’s prepare
Add daal , lauki , brinjal and carrot into a pressure cooker
Add water and one tomato in the cooker
Add salt, turmeric powder and hing and give 5-6 whistles
Once steam is out mash it with a spatula
Now take a pan and add oil
Add jakhiya,curry leaves and dry red chillies
Add onion and tomato
Add salt, chilli powder , turmeric powder and sambar masala
Sauté till it completely absorbed, add water if required
Add tamarind water into the mixture
Give it a boil
Add boiled tamarind water into the daal mixture in the cooker
Give it a good mix and let it boil for 2-3 minutes
Serve hot with idli or dosa
Tips & Tricks
Soak tamarind into hot water in advance
use water if masala sticks to the pan
