Malva Pudding recipe

Ingredients

Pudding

  • 2cups
    flour
  • 1tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 1/2tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/3cup
    sugar
  • 2piece
    eggs
  • 4tbsp
    apricot jam
  • 3tbsp
    melted butter or margarine
  • 3/4cup
    milk
  • 1 1/2tbsp
    vinegar

Sauce

  • 1/2cup
    sugar
  • 3/4cup
    milk
  • 1tbsp
    vanilla essence
  • 10tbsp
    butter or margarine
  • 3/4cup
    hot water

How to make Malva Pudding

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a baking tray with butter or margarine.

  2. Sieve all the dry ingredients together and set aside.

  3. Whisk all the wet ingredients together on their own and add to the flour mix until combined.

  4. Pour the mixture into the greased baking tray.

  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes.

  6. When the pudding is almost done, heat the ingredients for the sauce and let them boil for 2-3 minutes while stirring.

  7. When the pudding is done, remove it from the oven and pour the sauce over.

  8. Serve hot or warm.

  1. Ensure the sauce is hot when pouring over the pudding for better absorption.

  2. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or custard for an extra treat.
