Ingredients
- 300mLmilk or water (warm)
- 5tbspsugar
- 3tspyeast
- 2pieceeggs
- 7tbspbutter
- 5cupsflour (plain or bread flour)
- 1tspsalt
How to make Bread Rolls or Buns
Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix with a wooden spoon until it comes together as a dough.
Lightly flour your work surface and knead the dough for at least 10 minutes until smooth.
Pull the dough into a ball and put it in an oiled bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and leave for 1 hour until doubled in size.
Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and divide it into 24 pieces or more.
Shape the pieces into balls and place them in a greased pan. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 15 to 30 minutes until doubled in size.
Bake rolls in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) until golden brown for 15-20 minutes.
Whisk together sugar and boiling water and brush the top when the buns are done baking.
Serve warm and enjoy.

Ensure the milk or water is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.
Knead the dough thoroughly to develop the gluten, which gives the rolls their structure.
For a shiny top, brush the rolls with a mixture of sugar and boiling water immediately after baking.
