A visually appealing and delicious poke cake infused with jelly and custard, topped with juicy mango slices. Perfect for a show-stopping dessert.
Ingredients
- 1piecesix inch sponge cake
- 2pack jelly mix
- 250gcustard
- 2piecemangoes
How to make Custard Jelly Poke Cake
Bake the cake or use store-bought. Let the cake cool down.
Place the cake in the serving dish and poke holes evenly with the back of a wooden spoon or drinking straw.
Make the jelly as per packet instructions, and pour it into the cavities/holes.
Leave it to set for 30 minutes.
Evenly spread the cooled custard onto the surface of the cake.
Slice the mango or whichever fruit you are using and decorate the cake with it.
Set some more jelly in different colors and flavors in ice trays. Arrange these jelly cubes or shapes on top of the cake.
The infused jelly into the poked holes creates beautiful patterns and adds to the taste.
Tips & Tricks
Prep time given here is including cake baking time. If using ready cake it will reduce, so you may bake the cake a day ahead.
Use a serving dish nearly same size as that of the cake.
It helps if all ingredients are cold or at room temperature.
You can also top with nuts or chocolate chips. Use your imagination and get creative!
