Ingredients
For Marination
- 500gboneless chicken
- 2tbspsoy sauce
- 1tbspcornflour
- 1tbspall-purpose flour
- 1tspginger-garlic paste
- salt and pepper to taste
- oil for frying
For the Sauce
- 2tbspoil
- 1pieceonion, chopped
- 1piecebell pepper, chopped
- 3piecegreen chilies, slit
- 1tspginger-garlic paste
- 2tbspsoy sauce
- 1tbspvinegar
- 1tbspchili sauce
- 1tspsugar
- spring onions for garnish
How to make Chilly Chicken
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine chicken, soy sauce, cornflour, all-purpose flour, ginger-garlic paste, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Fry the Chicken
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the marinated chicken pieces until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside on paper towels.
Prepare the Sauce
In the same pan, add oil. Sauté the chopped onion and bell pepper until they soften.
Add green chilies and ginger-garlic paste, and cook for another minute.
Combine
Stir in the soy sauce, vinegar, chili sauce, and sugar. Mix well.
Add the fried chicken to the sauce, toss to coat evenly, and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Garnish and Serve
Garnish with chopped spring onions. Serve hot with fried rice or noodles.
Tips & Tricks
Adjust the number of green chilies and chili sauce according to your spice preference.
For extra flavor, add a dash of sesame oil to the sauce.
