Orange Sponge Cake recipe

Ingredients

8 Servings
(1 serving = 1 slice)

A

  • 5piece
    egg yolk
  • 5 1/2oz
    sponge cake mix
  • 3oz
    supreme cake flour
  • 1/2oz
    corn flour
  • 4oz
    corn oil
  • 4oz
    water
  • 1/4tsp
    soda powder
  • 1tsp
    orange paste

B

  • 5piece
    egg white
  • 3oz
    sugar
  • 1/2tsp
    cream of tartar

How to make Orange Sponge Cake

  1. Mix ingredients from section A together until well combined.

  2. Whisk egg whites with cream of tartar from section B for 1 minute, then add sugar and continue whisking until stiff peaks form.

  3. Pour the mixture from section A into the egg white mixture from section B. Mix well.

  4. Place the mixture into a 10-inch round cake tin and bake at 160°C for 45 minutes.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Ensure the egg whites are at room temperature for better volume.

  2. Do not overmix the batter to keep the cake light and airy.
