- 6Star Anise
- 1tbspBlack Peppercorns
- 15Cloves
- 3in- Cinnamon Sticks
- 20Green Cardamoms
- 1 1/2tbspAniseed
- 1/2tspNutmeg Powder
- 2tbspGinger (finely chopped)
- 50gBlack Tea Leaves
- 1/2cupHoney
- 1 1/2tbspLemon Juice
How to make Sticky Chai Blend
Coarsely grind star anise, black peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon sticks, cardamoms, and aniseeds using a mortar & pestle or a blender. Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl.
Add finely chopped ginger, nutmeg powder, and tea leaves to the coarsely ground spices. Thoroughly combine all the ingredients. l
In a small pan, gently heat honey, and lemon juice over low-medium heat for about a minute. Once warmed, pour this mixture over the combined tea blend in the mixing bowl. Stir well and then store the concoction in an air-tight container.
Tips & Tricks
Tea blends can be refrigerated and stored in a bottle and used when required.
Adjust the spice levels and sweetener according to your taste preferences.
Maple syrup can be substituted with honey.
Adjust the number of servings based on personal taste preferences for chai strength; the actual quantity may vary slightly.
