Ingredients
For Dough
- 2cupWhole Wheat Flour
- 1tbspOil
- Water as required
For Filling
- 4Gulab Jamuns
- 2tbspchopped Nuts (Pistachios/Cashews/Almonds)
- 1/4tspCardamom Powder
- 1pinchCinnamon powder
- 1pinchSalt
- Ghee for brushing on parathas
How to make Gulab Jamun Paratha
For Dough
Mix whole wheat flour in a bowl, gradually adding water until, firm dough forms.
Apply oil to the dough, cover it, and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
For Filling
Crush gulab jamuns in a large bowl.
Add chopped nuts, cardamom powder, cinnamon powder and salt. Mix well and set aside.
Divide the dough into balls, and roll each into a small disc.
Brush ghee on the rolled dough, place stuffing in the centre, fold the edges to cover, and gently roll into a circular shape.
Heat a non-stick griddle over medium-high heat.
Cook the stuffed paratha for 1-2 minutes on each side.
Apply ghee on each side and cook until golden brown and crisp. Repeat for remaining dough balls.
Cut Gulab Jamun Parathas into quarters, garnish with chopped nuts and enjoy hot!
Tips & Tricks
The recipe yields approximately 4 parathas, but this may vary depending on the size of each paratha.
You can substitute oil for ghee in this recipe.
