- 2cupsAll-purpose Flour
- 1/2tspBaking Powder
- 1/2tspBaking Soda
- 1/8tspSalt
- 150gButter (softened)
- 1/2cupBrown Sugar
- 1/2cupWhite Sugar
- 1/2tspVanilla Extract
- 1pieceEgg
- 1/2cupChocolate Chips
How to make Choco Chip Biscuits
Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Set it aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar together until the mixture is smooth and fluffy using a hand whisk or electric mixer at a low speed.
Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and whisk until the mixture becomes light and frothy.
Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, gently folding with a spatula until a soft dough forms. Avoid over-mixing.
Stir in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed by gently kneading the dough.
Let the dough rest for 20-30 minutes.
Roll the dough into walnut-sized balls, then slightly flatten each one.
Arrange the flattened dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them to allow spreading while baking.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers will be slightly soft but will firm up as they cool.
Remove the biscuits from the oven and allow them to cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once cooled, store the biscuits in an airtight container. Enjoy them with your favorite tea or coffee.
Tips & Tricks
Keep an eye on the baking time, as oven temperatures may vary. Adjust accordingly.
Adjust the sugar according to your sweet preferences.
Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can help prevent excessive spreading and give a chewier texture.
