How to make Easy Flatbread Pizza Sticks

  1. Prepare the Dough:

  2. In a small bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy (this activates the yeast).

  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix with a spoon or your hands until the dough begins to come together.

  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic. Add a little extra flour if the dough is too sticky.

  5. Form the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let it rise for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

    1. Preheat the Oven:
  6. Preheat your oven to 350degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it. You can also use a pizza stone if you have one.

    1. Shape the Flatbread:
  7. Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently

  8. Roll dough out on a floured surface into a circle or rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick. If you prefer a thinner crust, roll the dough even thinner.

    1. Add the Toppings:
  9. Place the rolled-out flatbread dough on the prepared baking sheet or pizza stone.

  10. Brush the top of each dough with a little olive oil or pizza sauce. For a garlic-infused flavor, sprinkle the dough with minced garlic or garlic powder and Italian seasoning.

  11. Add your choice of toppings. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously on top, followed by any additional toppings like pepperoni, bell peppers, or mushrooms.

    1. Bake the Pizza:
  12. Bake the pizzas in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  13. If you like extra crispy edges, bake for an additional 2-3 minutes, keeping an eye on the pizzas to avoid burning.

    1. Serve: Cut into sticks
  14. Remove the flatbread pizzas from the oven and allow them to cool for a couple of minutes. Slice and serve hot, garnished with fresh basil or extra seasoning if desired.
