Main Ingredients

  • 1cup
    Palm Oil
  • 2piece
    Mackerel
  • 1piece
    Cured Fish
  • 1cup
    Okra
  • 1cup
    Spinach

Pepper Mix

  • 1cup
    Pepper mix (scotch bonnet, bell pepper, ginger, garlic, onion)
  • 1piece
    Bouillon cube
  • 1dash
    Salt

How to make Okra Soup

Preparation

  1. Prepare the pepper mix by blending scotch bonnet, bell pepper, ginger, garlic, and onion together.

  2. Chop the okra and spinach into small pieces.

Cooking

  1. Heat palm oil in a pot.

  2. Add the mackerel and cured fish to the pot.

  3. Stir in the prepared pepper mix and cook for a few minutes.

  4. Add the chopped okra and spinach to the pot.

  5. Season with the bouillon cube and salt.

  6. Allow the soup to simmer until the ingredients are cooked through.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Adjust the spice level by adding more or less scotch bonnet to the pepper mix.

  2. For a thicker soup, blend some of the okra before adding it to the pot.
