    Egg
  • 1 1/2cups
    Warm water
  • 1tsp
    Vanilla extract
  • 1cup
    Powdered milk

How to make Bofrot or Togbei

Preparation Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, nutmeg, and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix the warm water, instant yeast, and condensed milk. Let it sit for a few minutes until frothy.

  3. Add the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well.

  4. Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract into the dough.

  5. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic. Cover and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.

  6. Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into small balls.

  7. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the dough balls until golden brown on all sides.

  8. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Adjust the sugar according to your taste preference.

  2. For a richer flavor, you can add more powdered milk.
