Moti Mirch Ka Achaar recipe

Ingredients

(1 serving = 1 piece)
  • 1kg
    Moti Hari Mirch (large green chilies)
  • 2in
    Raw Turmeric
  • 1tsp
    Dry turmeric powder
  • 2tbsp
    Salt
  • 1tsp
    Salt
  • 2tbsp
    Mustard seeds
  • 1tbsp
    Black peppercorns
  • 1/2cup
    White vinegar
  • 2tbsp
    Lemon juice
  • 1tbsp
    Preheated mustard oil

How to make Moti Mirch Ka Achaar

  1. Wash, dry, and slit the Moti Hari Mirch from the center. Remove the stems.

  2. Roughly grind the black peppercorns and mustard seeds. Grind the raw turmeric.

  3. Add 2 tbsp salt and turmeric powder to the ground mixture.

  4. Fill the Moti Mirch with the spice mix and transfer to a jar.

  5. Add vinegar, remaining salt, lemon juice, lemon peel, and mustard oil to the jar.

  6. Cover the jar and keep it in the sun for a week.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Ensure the chilies are completely dry before filling to prevent spoilage.

  2. Shake the jar occasionally to ensure even distribution of the spices.
