Besan Pyaaz Paratha (Punjabi Paratha) recipe

Ingredients

2 Servings
(1 serving = 1 paratha)

Filling

  • 1/2cup
    besan (chickpea flour)
  • 1tbsp
    onion, chopped
  • 1piece
    green chilli
  • 1tbsp
    coriander leaves
  • 1tsp
    degi mirch
  • 1tsp
    dry mango powder
  • 1tsp
    carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1tsp
    garam masala
  • 1tsp
    coriander seeds, crushed
  • 1tbsp
    ghee
  • 1tbsp
    water
  • 1dash
    salt

Dough

  • 30g
    wheat atta
  • 1tbsp
    ghee, for toasting

How to make Besan Pyaaz Paratha (Punjabi Paratha)

Prepare the Filling

  1. In a bowl, mix besan, chopped onion, green chilli, coriander leaves, degi mirch, dry mango powder, carom seeds, garam masala, crushed coriander seeds, ghee, water, and salt to taste.

Prepare the Dough

  1. Take wheat atta and knead it into a soft dough using water as needed.

Assemble and Cook the Paratha

  1. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a small circle.

  2. Place a portion of the filling in the center of the circle and fold the edges to seal the filling.

  3. Roll the filled dough gently into a paratha.

  4. Heat a tawa and cook the paratha on both sides, applying ghee, until golden brown.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Ensure the dough is soft for easy rolling.

  2. Adjust the spices according to your taste preference.
