Besan Pyaaz Paratha (Punjabi Paratha)

A delicious Punjabi paratha made with chickpea flour and onions, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients
Filling
- 1/2cupbesan (chickpea flour)
- 1tbsponion, chopped
- 1piecegreen chilli
- 1tbspcoriander leaves
- 1tspdegi mirch
- 1tspdry mango powder
- 1tspcarom seeds (ajwain)
- 1tspgaram masala
- 1tspcoriander seeds, crushed
- 1tbspghee
- 1tbspwater
- 1dashsalt
Dough
- 30gwheat atta
- 1tbspghee, for toasting
How to make Besan Pyaaz Paratha (Punjabi Paratha)
Prepare the Filling
In a bowl, mix besan, chopped onion, green chilli, coriander leaves, degi mirch, dry mango powder, carom seeds, garam masala, crushed coriander seeds, ghee, water, and salt to taste.
Prepare the Dough
Take wheat atta and knead it into a soft dough using water as needed.
Assemble and Cook the Paratha
Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a small circle.
Place a portion of the filling in the center of the circle and fold the edges to seal the filling.
Roll the filled dough gently into a paratha.
Heat a tawa and cook the paratha on both sides, applying ghee, until golden brown.
Tips & Tricks
Ensure the dough is soft for easy rolling.
Adjust the spices according to your taste preference.
