    potatoes

    cauliflower
  • 1piece
    capsicum
  • 1cup
    green peas
  • 2piece
    onions
  • 2piece
    tomatoes

  • 2tbsp
    pav bhaji masala
  • 1tsp
    red chili powder
  • 1tsp
    turmeric powder
  • 2tbsp
    butter
  • 1tsp
    ginger-garlic paste
  • 1piece
    lemon
  • 8piece
    pav (bread rolls)

How to make Mumbai Special Pav Bhaji

Preparation

  1. Boil potatoes, cauliflower, and green peas until soft.

  2. Chop onions, tomatoes, and capsicum finely.

Cooking

  1. Heat butter in a pan and add ginger-garlic paste. Sauté until fragrant.

  2. Add chopped onions and cook until golden brown.

  3. Add tomatoes and cook until soft.

  4. Add pav bhaji masala, red chili powder, and turmeric powder. Mix well.

  5. Add boiled vegetables and mash them with a masher.

  6. Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring occasionally, until well combined.

  7. Toast the pav with butter on a separate pan until golden brown.

Serving

  1. Serve the bhaji hot with buttered pav and a wedge of lemon on the side.

Tips & Tricks

  1. For extra flavor, add a dollop of butter on top of the bhaji before serving.

  2. Adjust the spice level by varying the amount of red chili powder.
