Ingredients

(1 serving = 1 moonglet)
  • 1cup
    moong dal
  • 1/2cup
    chana dal
  • 1piece
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1piece
    tomato, finely chopped
  • 2piece
    green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/4tsp
    turmeric powder
  • 1/2tsp
    red chili powder
  • 1/2tsp
    cumin seeds
  • 1tbsp
    oil
  • 1/4tsp
    asafoetida
  • 1pinch
    salt
  • 2tbsp
    coriander leaves, chopped

How to make Moonglet Recipe

  1. Soak moong dal and chana dal in water for 3-4 hours.

  2. Drain the water and blend the dals into a smooth batter.

  3. Add chopped onion, tomato, green chilies, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, asafoetida, and salt to the batter. Mix well.

  4. Heat oil in a non-stick pan.

  5. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it evenly to form a thick pancake.

  6. Cook on medium flame until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and cook the other side.

  7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.

  1. Ensure the batter is not too thick or too thin for the perfect moonglet texture.

  2. You can add vegetables of your choice to make it more nutritious.
