  • 2cup
    cooked rice
  • 1tbsp
    oil
  • 1tsp
    mustard seeds
  • 1tsp
    urad dal
  • 1tsp
    chana dal
  • 2
    green chilies slit
  • 1sprig
    curry leaves
  • 1
    lemon juiced
  • 1tsp
    turmeric powder
  • 1tsp
    salt
  • 2tbsp
    peanuts

How to make Lemon Rice

Preparation Steps

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

  2. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.

  3. Add urad dal and chana dal, and sauté until golden brown.

  4. Add slit green chilies and curry leaves, and sauté for a minute.

  5. Stir in turmeric powder and salt.

  6. Add the cooked rice and mix well.

  7. Pour in the lemon juice and mix until evenly coated.

  8. Add peanuts and mix again.

  9. Serve hot.

Tips & Tricks

  1. You can adjust the spice level by adding more or fewer green chilies.

  2. For added flavor, you can include a pinch of asafoetida.
