Ingredients

4 Servings
(1 serving = 1 bun)

Dough

  • 2cups
    all-purpose flour
  • 1tbsp
    yeast
  • 1tbsp
    sugar
  • 1tsp
    salt
  • 1cup
    warm water
  • 2tbsp
    olive oil

Filling

  • 1cup
    mixed vegetables (chopped)
  • 1cup
    cheese (grated)
  • 1tsp
    black pepper
  • 1tsp
    oregano

How to make Cheese and Vegetables Pull Apart Pai Bun

Prepare the Dough

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.

  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.

  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Filling

  1. In a bowl, mix the chopped vegetables, grated cheese, black pepper, and oregano.

Assemble the Buns

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into small pieces.

  3. Flatten each piece and place a spoonful of the filling in the center.

  4. Fold the dough over the filling and shape it into a bun.

  5. Place the buns in a greased baking dish, leaving some space between them.

  6. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Bake the Buns

  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

  2. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
