How to make Potato Cheese Bombs
Prepare the Potato Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, 1 tsp flour, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth and evenly combined.
Form the Potato Balls
Take a small portion of the potato mixture and flatten it in your hand. Place a mozzarella cube in the center, then roll the potato mixture around the cheese, forming a ball that completely covers the cheese.
Coat the Balls
Roll each potato ball in the flour, ensuring it's evenly coated.
In a small bowl, beat the egg and mix in the sweet and sour sauce for a spicy egg wash.
Dip each floured ball into the egg wash, then roll it in the panko breadcrumbs until fully coated.
Fry the Potato Cheese Bombs
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
Once hot, carefully add the potato balls in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 2-3 minutes.
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
