How to make Blueberry Jam, Ham, and Cheese Waffle Sandwich

Make the Jam

  1. Turn on the waffle or 4-in-one sandwich maker and preheat it until the indicator light turns green.

  2. If using fresh blueberries, rinse them and remove any stems. If using frozen blueberries, no need to thaw before starting.

  3. In a small saucepan, combine the blueberries, sugar, lemon zest (if using), and a pinch of salt. Stir well to combine.

Assemble the Sandwich

  1. Spread blueberry jam on one slice of bread.

  2. Layer with ham and cheese, then top with the second slice of bread.

Cook the Sandwich

  1. Place the sandwich in the preheated waffle maker.

  2. For thicker sandwiches, avoid forcing the lid down. Gently press the lid to make contact with the top of the sandwich and cook for 2 minutes.

  3. Once the bread has softened slightly, press the lid down more firmly and lock it if possible.

  4. Continue cooking for an additional 4-6 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread turns golden and crispy.

Cool Slightly Before Serving

  1. Turn off the waffle maker and let the sandwich cool for 3-5 minutes before opening the lid.
