How to make Fusion Apple Pie Bites
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Apples
In a small bowl, toss the apple wedges with brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and a pinch of salt.
Prepare the Puff Pastry
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into small triangles or rectangles, big enough to wrap around the apple wedges.
Assemble the Bites
Place each apple wedge on a piece of puff pastry. Drizzle a small amount of melted butter and vanilla extract over the apple.
Sprinkle a little bit of crushed nuts on top of each apple. Wrap the pastry around the apple and seal the edges by pressing them together.
Bake the Bites
Arrange the wrapped apple bites on the baking sheet, making sure the seams are down. Brush the tops with the remaining melted butter.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry turns golden brown and crispy.
Make the Dipping Sauce
While the bites are baking, prepare the dipping sauce by mixing sweetened condensed milk with ground cinnamon and a pinch of ground ginger in a small bowl. Stir until smooth.
Serve
Once the apple pie bites are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
Drizzle with honey for extra sweetness, then serve them warm with the cinnamon-ginger dipping sauce on the side.
Tips & Tricks
The addition of cardamom gives the apple pie bites an exotic twist, while the nuts provide a nice crunch.
The condensed milk dipping sauce, with its hint of cinnamon and ginger, adds a deliciously rich and sweet element that pairs perfectly with the warm, spiced apples.
