Nigerian Egg Toast is the perfect breakfast! It can be paired with hot chocolate, coffee, fruit juice, pap etc and it is very easy to make and pocket friendly πŸ˜‰. I used a sandwich maker to prepare this.

Ingredients

  • 4
    slices of bread
  • Butter
  • 2
    eggs
  • pinch
    of salt
  • pinch
    of thyme leaves (optional)
  • pinch
    of pepper
  • pinch
    of seasoning cube
  • 2
    garlic cloves

How to make Nigerian Egg Toast

Prepping the eggs

  1. First of, crack eggs and pour into a clean bowl and whisk

  2. Then add a pinch of salt, a pinch of pepper, a pinch of seasoning cube and garlic (preferably grated) and thyme leaves to the eggs and whisk.

Prepping the bread

  1. Butter up the 4 slices of bread

Making the toast

  1. Preheat the sandwich maker and grease it with little butter

  2. Place one slice of buttered bread on the sandwich maker

  3. Glaze the bread with the egg mix

  4. Then place another slice of buttered bread on the bread. (Also glaze the buttered part of this bread before placing)

  5. Close the sandwich maker and allow to toast for roughly 1 minute or until it looks like the photo below

  6. Then flip the bread to the other side and allow to toast for another minute. (Flipping the bread is what gives it that lovely X pattern)

Tips & Tricks

  1. Leaving the bread in the sandwich maker for a longer amount of time would result in it getting burnt.
