A simple recipe for making fluffy basmati rice.
Ingredients
4 Servings
(1 serving = 1 cup cooked rice)
- 2cupsBasmati Rice
- 1tspSalt
- 5cupsWater
How to make Fluffy Basmati Rice
Place the basmati rice in a medium pot, cover with water, and wash by rubbing the rice between your hands. Do this until the water turns white, indicating the excess starch is removed.
Pour off the starchy water and replace it with clean water.
Bring the rice to a boil, then simmer until cooked.
Strain the rice and rinse, then drain.
Return the rice to the pot and heat through before serving.

Washing the rice thoroughly ensures a fluffier texture.
