A fusion dish combining the flavors of curry beef with the classic lasagne, topped with a creamy white sauce and cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
Curry Beef
- 1/2pieceonion, finely chopped
- 1tspgarlic
- 1/2stalk celery, finely chopped
- 3tbspcurry of your choice
- 2tbspturmeric
- 500gbeef mince
- 1/2cupchutney
- 1pinchsalt
- 1dashblack pepper
White Sauce
- 60gbutter
- 120gflour
- 500mLmilk
- 1pinchsalt
- 1dashblack pepper
Layering
- 1package lasagne sheets
- 1cupcheddar cheese, grated
How to make Curry Beef Lasagne
Curry Beef
In a warm pan with oil, sauté the onions until golden brown, then add garlic and celery.
Add beef mince, curry, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add 1 cup of water and bring it to a boil for 10 minutes.
Once the water is reduced, add the chutney and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Set aside.
White Sauce
Melt butter in a saucepan.
Add flour and whisk in milk, continuing to whisk to prevent lumps.
Add a pinch of salt and some black pepper to taste.
Layering
Start with a layer of the curry beef.
Follow with a layer of lasagne sheets.
Add a layer of white sauce.
Repeat the layers and top with grated cheddar cheese.
Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Tips & Tricks
You can serve it with a salad and garlic bread.
