Mince Mixture

    carrot

    oil
  • 1/2kg
    lamb/mutton mince

    garlic

    dried thyme

    tomato paste

  • 1/4cup
    green peas
  • 2tbsp
    maida
  • 1cup
    yakhni

Mashed Potato

  • 750g
    potatoes
  • 1/2cup
    cheddar cheese
  • 1tsp
    black pepper
  • 1tsp
    salt
  • 2piece
    egg yolks
  • 1/2cup
    lukewarm milk

For Layering

  • 1/4cup
    cheddar cheese
  • 1/4cup
    mozzarella cheese
  • 1pinch
    red chili crushed

How to make Shepherd's Pie

Prepare Mince Mixture

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.

  2. Add lamb mince and cook until the color changes.

  3. Grate garlic and add to the pan. Cook for 2 minutes.

  4. Add thyme, red chili powder, salt, soy sauce, and fresh parsley. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.

  5. Stir in tomato paste and black pepper. Add chopped carrots and peas, and mix again.

  6. Sprinkle maida and pour in yakhni. Mix and cook for 10 minutes. Set aside.

Prepare Mashed Potatoes

  1. Combine boiled and grated potatoes, grated cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, egg yolks, and lukewarm milk. Mix well until smooth.

Assemble and Bake

  1. In an oven-safe serving dish, layer the mince mixture.

  2. Top with mashed potatoes and sprinkle with cheddar and mozzarella cheese.

  3. Optionally, sprinkle with crushed red chili.

  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20-25 minutes.
