Nandos Inspired Peri Bites with Special Mayo Dip
Spicy and cheesy peri bites inspired by Nandos, served with a special mayo dip.
Ingredients
Peri Bites
- 125gchicken (boiled with salt and pepper)
- 1tspsalt
- 10piecelarge green chilies
- 25gcheese, grated
- 1/2cupmaida (flour)
- 3/4cupbread crumbs
- 2tbspvinegar
- 2pieceeggs
- 1oil for deep frying
Special Mayo Dip
- 2tbsphoney mustard
- 4tbspmayonnaise
- 2tbspPortuguese peri peri sauce
Peri Peri Sauce
- 10piecered chili, big
- 2clovegarlic
- 1/4tsppaprika
- 1tbspoil
- 2tsplemon juice
- 1salt, as per taste
- 1/2tbspbasil, chopped
- 1tbspcilantro
How to make Nandos Inspired Peri Bites with Special Mayo Dip
Prepare Peri Bites
Slit green chilies without cutting through and deseed them.
In a bowl, mix water and vinegar. Soak the chilies for at least 30 minutes. Remove and pat dry.
Cut chicken into long strips or shred as per your liking. Mix with cheese.
Fill green chilies with the cheese and chicken mixture.
Coat the filled chilies with flour, then dip in beaten egg, and finally coat with bread crumbs. Repeat the coating process.
Place the coated chilies in the freezer for 15 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the chilies until golden brown.
Prepare Special Mayo Dip
Mix honey mustard, mayonnaise, and Portuguese peri peri sauce in a bowl. Serve with peri bites.
Prepare Peri Peri Sauce
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Alternatively, use store-bought peri peri sauce.
Tips & Tricks
Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture.
Adjust the spiciness of the peri peri sauce by varying the amount of red chili.
