Karahi Masala

  • 6tsp
    coriander seeds
  • 6piece
    dried long red pepper
  • 18piece
    black peppercorns
  • 6tsp
    cumin powder
  • 4tsp
    red chili powder
  • 6tsp
    coriander powder
  • 2tsp
    salt

Chicken Karahi

  • 1piece
    cooking spoon of oil
  • 1 1/2tsp
    garlic paste
  • 500g
    chicken
  • 500g
    tomato
  • 1 1/2tbsp
    Karahi masala
  • 1/4cup
    water
  • 5piece
    green chilli
  • 1tsp
    ginger (julienne cut)
  • 1tbsp
    coriander leaves

How to make Chicken Karahi with Karahi Masala

Karahi Masala

  1. Dry roast all whole spices. Do not over roast as it affects the taste of the karahi.

  2. Let the roasted spices cool, then add them to a spice blender and make a fine powder.

  3. Mix the powdered spices with the ground whole spices well.

  4. Store and use as required.

Chicken Karahi

  1. Heat oil and crackle zeera.

  2. Add garlic paste and fry for a minute.

  3. Add chicken and fry until the color changes.

  4. Add tomatoes and karahi masala, cover, and cook in its own water until the chicken is tender. Add water if required.

  5. Sprinkle green chillies, ginger, and coriander leaves, cook for a minute, and then turn off the stove.
