This beautiful and vibrant tea, made from butterfly pea flowers, is not only visually stunning but also refreshing. It can be enjoyed hot or cold, with a hint of lemon and sweetener to taste.

Ingredients

1 Servings
(1 serving = 1 cup)
  • 1cup
    water
  • 5piece
    dried or fresh butterfly pea flowers
  • sugar or honey to taste
  • 1pinch
    salt
  • 1tsp
    lemon juice

How to make Butterfly Pea Flower Tea

  1. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a pot on the stove.

  2. Add 5-7 butterfly pea flowers to the boiling water.

  3. Boil the flowers for 2-3 minutes until the water turns blue.

  4. Turn off the stove and strain the tea into a cup.

  5. Mix in sugar or honey to taste, and a pinch of salt if desired.

  6. Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, which will change the tea’s color to purple.

  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

  1. This tea can also be enjoyed cold. Simply let it cool and add ice cubes.
