How to make Crispy Fried Shrimp in Buffalo Sauce

Prepare the Shrimp

  1. Line up the shrimp and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. In one bowl, whisk the eggs.

  3. In another bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Coat the Shrimp

  1. Dip each shrimp into the egg mixture, then into the flour mixture, pressing onto the flour mixture so it adheres and creates a crispy coating.

Frying the Shrimp

  1. Heat oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium-high heat.

  2. Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown and crispy, turning often and frying about 2-3 minutes on each side.

  3. Remove the shrimp and place on a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.

Make the Sauce

  1. In a small saucepan, combine hot sauce, melted butter, honey, soy sauce, and garlic powder.

  2. Heat sauce on low until combined.

Coat the Shrimp

  1. Place the fried shrimp in a large bowl and drizzle the hot sauce mixture over them.

  2. Toss the shrimp until they are well coated with the sauce.

Serve

  1. Serve immediately, with chopped parsley on top as desired.

  2. Serve with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture.

  2. Adjust the amount of hot sauce to suit your spice preference.
