Ingredients
- 1canchickpeas, rinsed and drained
- 1bundlechard, washed and chopped
- 1pieceonion, diced
- 2clovegarlic, minced
- 1candiced tomatoes
- 1tspcumin
- 1tsppaprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
- 1cupvegetable broth
How to make Braised Chickpeas with Chard
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the chopped chard to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 5 minutes.
Add the chickpeas, diced tomatoes, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.
Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and let cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve hot.
Tips & Tricks
For added flavor, try using smoked paprika instead of regular paprika.
Serve with crusty bread or over rice for a more filling meal.
